Detection of deformed marks

During manufacturing, processing or finishing, products are often subjected to severe deformation processes that completely or partially destroy the original shape of the component. Based on our OpTIN technology, we enable components to be uniquely identified, even when markings have been deformed or partially destroyed.
Description
Individual component markings ensure that the individual component and the corresponding process and product data are securely linked. Possible disturbances to this link are, for example, deformation of the component and the applied marking.
The OpTIN technology compensates for such interference and guarantees the unambiguous assignment of components and process data. Deformed markings, for example from the rolling of blanks, can still be used for identification thanks to OpTIN.
OpTIN thus guarantees product-specific customization even under difficult (readability) conditions.
Advantages
- Technology-agnostic marking
- No standards required
- ID generated from individual features
- Back-tracing via references in DB
- Robust against partial destruction of marks
Specifications
The application of the marking can be automated, semi-automated or manual. For this purpose, we offer customer-specific integration models that are precisely tailored to the respective framework conditions. In this way, we ensure a tailor-made solution.
The codes can be applied by both, shot marking and transfer printing.
With shot marking, the components are bombarded with a special paste. With transfer printing, on the other hand, the components are marked with a highly viscous ink that is transferred directly to the surface from a stamp pad.
OpTIN consists of an integrated camera system for segmentation and ID generation. The IDs are stored in a connected database, matched and referenced if necessary. Fast access is ensured with the aid of customized indexing.
OpTIN stores the IDs either in the camera memory or directly in a separate database, which is connected via a network interface. The APIs we programmed also make it easy to interact with the customer’s MES/ERP systems.
