Marking systems (in general):
Definition and application

Identification systems are industrial systems or processes for the unique identification of machines, components or tools. Marking can be addressed to consumers or processing companies. They can also be used in the production process as an organizing element or marker for further information in databases. The main tasks of a marking are divided into security aspects, tracking, identification and documentation. The identification can be attached to the component or the machine as plain text, symbol, code (1D, 2D) or RFID tag. They are manufactured, among other things, by means of needle embossing, ink printing, laser engraving or stamping stamps.

Particularly in rough production environments, e.g. at temperatures in the range of 1000 °C, special materials can be used for the markings. The ceramic pigment inks used in Ceracode® are an example of this.
